Homa was founded by alumni of global multi-disciplinary firms, aiming to deliver high-quality technical and strategic advice in an agile, impact-focused way. We work with a core team and a trusted network of specialist collaborators, scaling flexibly and assembling the right expertise for each project. Our team is based across the UK, Greece, Türkiye, UAE and Australia.
Roland Chanin-Morris
Founding Director
Roland is an urban planner, economist and infrastructure strategist with 15 years’ experience in 18 countries spanning Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific.
Roland leads multi-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated outcomes on complex urban development projects. His diverse project experience includes transit-oriented development, port and airport precincts, tourism destinations and new cities. He has particular expertise developing integrated city- and regional-scale planning frameworks.
Roland previously worked in global firms AECOM, Buro Happold, Hatch and Ramboll. He holds an MA in Geography from Cambridge University and two postgraduate degrees in urban design and planning from University College London.
Maged Hanna
Founding Director
Maged is an engineer and infrastructure strategist with 16 years’ experience. His work focuses on embedding energy, water, and waste strategies within masterplans to optimise sustainability and masterplan performance.
Trained in building physics and engineering design, Maged brings a systems-based perspective to urban development, integrating technical, financial, and regulatory considerations into practical infrastructure solutions.
Maged previously worked at AECOM and holds an MEng from the University of Sheffield. He is a member of the IMechE Energy, Environment and Sustainability Group and is LEED accredited.
Melis Koyuncu
Associate Director, Spatial Strategies
Melis is a trained architect, urban and regional planner and designer with a diverse skillset spanning geospatial data modelling, urban policy, architectural design, and project management.
Melis brings strong analytical capabilities to complex urban challenges. She has particular expertise in spatial data modeling, thematic mapping, and 3D visualization of urban projects.
Melis holds an MSc in Urban Design, BA in Architecture and BSc in Urban and Regional Planning from Istanbul Technical University, and is completing an MSc in Sustainable Urban Development at Oxford University.
Sophie Mockett
Investment Strategy Director
Sophie is a sustainable finance strategist and investment advisor with 15 years' experience across the UAE, Africa, and Asia-Pacific. Her work focuses on structuring bankable projects for climate finance, blended finance, and development funding sources across emerging markets.
Sophie brings deep expertise in Middle Eastern capital markets and extensive networks across government entities, institutional investors, and regional development organisations. She holds credentials in Sustainable Finance from Cambridge University and Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.
Haluk Camcıgil
Transport & Mobility Director
Haluk is a transport planner with 19 years' experience across the Middle East, Australia and Türkiye. He specialises in transport planning for master-planned developments, working closely with urban planners, architects and engineers to integrate mobility with land use and urban form.
Haluk's particular interest is the role transport plays in shaping successful places — improving accessibility, encouraging sustainable travel and supporting high-quality public realm. His project experience spans Istanbul's Sustainable Urban Development Plan (Europe's largest SUMP), Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, and major mobility and regeneration studies in Sydney and Dubai.
Haluk previously worked at GIZ, Mott MacDonald, CH2M and Halcrow. He holds an MSc in Environmental Engineering and Sustainable Development from Imperial College and a BEng in Civil Engineering from the University of Bristol.
Ece Filibe
Spatial Narrative Designer
Ece is a spatial narrative designer and architect with experience in urban-scale projects. Her work focuses on developing architectural and urban representation systems to communicate complex spatial strategies.
She holds credentials in Architecture from Istanbul Technical University and currently continuing her post-graduate education in architectural design.
